about

I wrote this piece when I got my first non-used car (Mitsubishi Eclipse) and on the way to the dealership to get a sun-roof put in, I hit a deer that completely smashed in my hood and ended up flipping over the car (almost coming in through the windshield).
I came up with the name "Bonzai Bambi" to describe the strange experience of seeing a single deer break away from the small group to what seemed "intentionally" run across the highway as fast as possible....almost as if it were a "dare" or a bizarre suicide attempt....hence the name "Bonzai Bambi".
This is a solo piece on my steel string guitar.

about

Dan Tharp Champaign, Illinois

I'm Dan Tharp, a solo acoustic guitar player who plays classical and steel string guitar....but only in my spare time.
I've been playing guitar off and on since I was young but never could bring myself to perform or record because of stage fright and that crazy voice in my head that keeps telling me I'm not good enough to make a living at it.

So, I play just for fun.

I hope you enjoy the music.
